Kevin Grainger, a native of Asheville, North Carolina, maintains an active freelance career in Boston and the New England area. He has performed with groups such as the New Bedford Symphony, Atlantic Symphony, and Boston Civic Orchestra, as well as the Back Bay Chorale and Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. Mr. Grainger holds degrees from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music (BM) and Boston University (MM, PD) under the tutelage of Kathleen McLean, Gregg Henegar, and Nancy Goeres.
As a recipient of the Aspen Music Festival Contrabassoon Fellowship (2016-2018), he has performed with at the Aspen Music Festival and School alongside prominent bassoonists such as Michael Sweeney (Toronto Symphony), Nancy Goeres (Pittsburgh Symphony), and Per Hannevold (Bergen Philharmonic).
