Cuban American Mezzo-Soprano Zaray Rodriguez is quickly making her mark as a young artist in operatic and concert work. Ms. Rodriguez has been a recipient of multiple grants and scholarships including Career Bridges Grant, Heida Hermanns International Vocal Competition, Society of Arts and Letters National Competition, and a Regional Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Competition.
Locally, Rodriguez has recently been seen performing the roles of Aunt Hannah Watkins in Emmeline, and Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Boston University Opera Institute. This Spring she will be featured in the Opera Institute’s performance as Florence Pike in Albert Herring, and Geneviève in Pelléas et Mélisande. Rodriguez will continue to make her debut as Carmen with Parkway Concert Orchestra and returns to Aspen Music Festival, summer 2018, to perform the role of Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti.
Ms. Rodriguez studies voice under the tutelage of Professor Penelope Bitzas.
