Celebrate summer on the Cape with a radiant pre-season program that captures the essence of atmosphere through sound. Mendelssohn’s dazzling Octet meets Copland’s beloved Appalachian Spring in a concert celebrating clarity, warmth, and the landscapes of imagination.
Join us for a magical afternoon of music, food, and drink at the inaugural CCCO Gala! Celebrate with us on Sunday, September 28th at 2:30 PM at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod as we launch our first-ever musical gala in support of the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra.
Our first chamber concert of the season kicks off with a vibrant and bold program of string quartets, featuring Shostakovich’s famous third string quartet and other staples of the repertoire.
An imaginative blend of old and new, this program features the world premiere of Cody Forrest’s Cello Concerto performed by cellist Joseph Gotoff. Haydn’s witty and theatrical Symphony No. 60 “Il Distratto” brings classical charm, while Jessie Montgomery’s vibrant Strum bursts with rhythmic energy and American spirit.

Ring in the holidays with a festive program featuring Vaughan Williams’ radiant Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Britten’s introspective Lachrymae with violist Sam Kelder. The evening rounds out with a joyful selection of holiday favorites.

CCCO violinist Sophia Szokolay honors her heritage with a performance of her grandfather Sándor Szokolay’s powerful Violin Concerto. The program also features Grażyna Bacewicz’s bold and expressive Concerto for String Orchestra and Leoš Janáček’s richly textured Suite for Strings—a vibrant tribute to the Eastern European musical legacy.
