The Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Society presents a quartet of musicians from CCCO in our first chamber concert of the season. Highlights include Shostakovich’s dramatic third string quartet and Smetana’s String Quartet No. 1.

CCCO violinist Sophia Szokolay honors her heritage with a performance of her grandfather Sándor Szokolay’s powerful Violin Concerto. The program also features Grażyna Bacewicz’s bold and expressive Concerto for String Orchestra and Leoš Janáček’s richly textured Suite for Strings—a vibrant tribute to the Eastern European musical legacy.
